Orthodox Easter in Cyprus this year is celebrated on Sunday, April 27th.

Huge crowds are expected at Ayia Napa’s central square for the town’s Orthodox Easter celebrations, which begin on Holy Thursday April 24, with an early evening service from 6.30pm.

Special events are planned throughout the Easter weekend, including traditional Greek dances, special services, the baking of traditional Greek food and a special concert on Easter Sunday featuring the group “Maria Zintill and Andreas Nikolaou”.

The Ayia Napa Municipal Dancing Group and the music ensemble, “Anerada and Rymvos” will provide the entertainment on Easter Monday evening. This will be preceded by traditional Easter games and the baking of cheese pies.
